This week the NBA has been dealing with a scandal after the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, Donald Sterling, was given a lifetime ban for making racist remarks.

His comments come nearly 65 years after the NBA became racially integrated. But even before that, African-American teams were taking to the court against white opponents.

Known as the “black fives” for the number of starting players, these teams came to define an era.

  1. It was to stop 5 of them from raping a female. I herd they just threw a ball and all of em jumped up. Remind d u day never seen a ball before so day were jumping for joy and one of them threw it through a hoop bam basketball

  2. Let’s not forget how they would pick out their best white players at that time in the League to match against us and we ran threw them like cupcakes before they had to “integrate”.

  3. Damn them MF’s was PASSING that rock back then! The game has changed a lot, it’s a lot more dribbling these days but passing like that seems like it was more efficient

  4. They wonder why we love basketball 🏀 this is why. It’s about the Game not race, not religion, just pure game.

  5. PEOPLE ALWAYS LIKE TO SAY BLACKS DOMINATE IN SPORTS BUT WHAT THEY DON'T MENTION IS THAT THOSE SPORTS ARE ,MOSTLY PLAYED BY CHILDREN. WHITE PEOPLE DOMINATE IN A GROWN MANS SPORT LIKE ROCK CLIMBING ,MOUNTAIN CLIMBING BIG WAVE SURFING, SKYING , SKYDIVING, LONG DISTANCE ENDURANCE SWIMMING ,AND MANY MORE THINGS THAT TAKE COURAGE AND BRAVERY
