  1. I've played the trilogy and it was pretty good for its time, from "Lot of Clicks" only time period. an actual Black Mirror is the Antagonist.

  2. I got into the master study but that rune dial is wrecking my brain! Especially since the thorn symbol that worked as a 1 on the desk puzzle isn't even on the inner dial!

  3. How are these characters related to Samuel Gordon ? It doesn't look like a rebooted version of the first game.

  4. WOW! Camera angle is SHIT! Fucking imbeciles ruined the game completelly. I will not buy it untill they fix this shit.

  5. #StillTheBestHorrorRpgGame
If u didnt play or see it, you should probably watch or play the game from part 1-3 (: U wont regret it

    More please senpaiii

  6. I have played the early Black Mirror game. That had been one of the most brutal puzzle games I've played (eyeball piercing keyholes, anyone?). Really interested in how this one turns out; if they stay with the same formula or try something new.

  7. I was subscribed to you and freaking YouTube unsubscribed me without my permission. I have resubscribed. Looking around at all my gaming dudes and chix I see they were all taken off my feed and I have to re-add them ALL except Markiplier who somehow they didn't cancel on me.

  8. I'd recommend against continuing this. There's three games in the series, you pretty much need to play all three to get some closure. I played the whole thing, and ultimately it didn't feel like time well spent. It wasn't bad, but it is very slow-paced and there's plenty of better stories.

  9. This reminds me a little bit of those The Room puzzle box games, especially the bit with the rotating key and having to unlock the desk. Personally, I thought this was interesting to watch, but mostly because of what you were bringing to the video. The game itself was… okay, but nothing mind blowing. If you're not enjoying it tho, I'm sure any other let's play here will end up just as Welonz-y 😀 and I think that's why people watch your channel. Have a great day!

  10. The story being some kind of mystery makes it interesting, with this setting and all it reminds me of the Sherlock Holmes Baskervilles story so far. For that I'm interested in seeing more, but obviously it's up to you as the gameplay, dialogues etc seem a bit rough around the edges and not too polished.

  11. i played the original trilogy and i find it quite interesting, but today it looks quite cringy, so i look forward to this remastered version

  12. From this first hour, this seems like it's going to be an interesting game, at least story-wise.

It reminds me a little of Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, in that (at least IMO) it's a fascinating story that's weighed down by presentation issues. I'm not quite sure why the decision to use the semi-fixed camera – most of the time, all it does is make traversing the house more difficult. Then there's the fact that sometimes David seems to know stuff the player doesn't know yet, as if the creators expected the player to go through an area in a very fixed order – most notably by the end, when David instantly knew that the code with the circles was for a shelf you haven't examined yet.

Not to mention the fact that sometimes, the text doesn't match the voice lines. I've noticed it a few times in dialogue, but it's very glaring when Edward basically confesses to killing a girl (and a few other people) on that newspaper scrap while the voiceover has him angry at the journalist, meaning David is missing a crucial piece of information that the player has. It looks like at some point the dev team decided to postpone this particular revelation until later, but forgot to tell the graphics people about it, which seems… sloppy, a little.

Still, I'm interested to see where the story goes. They've referenced Lovecraft already, so I'm hoping for some betentacled eldritch madness to go down.

  13. I personally like all things inspired by H.P. Lovecraft as this game clearly seems to be (you even found a book by Lovecraft in the game). But it's more important that you enjoy playing it. If the clunky controlls and camera-angles keep on frustrating you i would not wish for you to continue just to please your followers.

  14. This will be interesting to see. I liked the original trilogy and it's visuals and mechanics (classic point and click) still hold up well so it will need to show some decent improvement. So far the presentation and controls seem a little bit… rougher than, say, Kings Quest.

Strange that they moved it from England to Scotland but it means I get to be pedantic and pick apart the accents.. yay! The original setting was Black Mirror Manor, obviously translated to "sgàthan dubh" which is pretty strange as non-Anglicised Gaelic would not be regarded as appropriate for naming a manor (The whole Jacobite thing put the skids on that and pretty much killed off Gaelic as a usable language here). Maybe "Scahandow". Sure you'd have to explain it, but you need to do that anyway.

Oh god Lady Margaret's accent is like a bad attempt at a Miss Jean Brodie. Angus' is…. ok. Rory is a bit over the top and can't pronounce loch correctly (Pretty easy way to identify a non-celt). And the boy… didn't hear much but it sounded like wee Jimmie Krankie. None of them seem to have any specific accent, just generic "Scottish", though at least they aren't haggis munching, bagpipe playing stereotypes.

I'd like to see you continue, if only to see how/if they changed the story although I perfectly understand your reservations about the controls and presentation. If it is bad enough then don't feel you need to push on through (I would recommend the original but it is a point and click and it has some particularly obtuse puzzles so it may not interest you enough to be worth playing either).

  15. I guess I'll be the first to comment… I, personally, didn't find it too appealing to watch, so I'd suggest looking at other Let's Play options. Especially since the actual controls seem to be something you don't enjoy; after all it will be present through out the game regardless of story or graphics.
I do enjoy quite a few of your other let's plays. Some of them even encouraged me to also play the games I have watched you play. "Prey" being one of them.

  16. There aren't many main menu themes that i like, this one is instantly pretty damn good.
    Heya Welonz 🙂

Edit: first 5 minutes, instantly confused. Sometimes games do "start off by confusing the player" good, this one is…ehh, okay so far? 😀
Edit 2: reading. Ding. You've done a lot of reading lately :D.
